Inspired by its unique tropical location, the City of Miami Beach Annex manipulates light and shadow to simulate the flow of the tropical breeze from the beach. This is accomplished through a sophisticated surface corrugated metal sheets which oversees 7 levels of parking and public services.
A feeling of smooth motion is provided by the sun's movement on these leaves throughout the day, and ever-changing choreography of artificial lighting that is reflected in the leaves during the night. This same feature lyrical surface to provide shade and reflect daylight deep into the floor plates of parking behind it.
